WEDDING

the

Guide

Starting with your

engagement session

It's time to get excited about your engagement session. This is a great way for us to get to know each other! It helps prep you for the wedding day and get comfortable in front of my camera!

Here are a few tips to help you prep!

  • To avoid any last-minute panic, I suggest scheduling your engagement session at least 5-8 months before your wedding date

  • Establish a Vision| You are free to choose what ever vision fits you and your fiancé.  If you are unsure of the vibes you are going for, take a look at Pinterest, Instagram or Facebook! Look at the locations and outfits that continuously catch your eye. Consider things such as what do you like to do together? Where would you like to go? What scenese reflect your personality.  If all else fails, I know of tons of good locations and can help narrow that down for you!

  • Dressing the Part| Once you have decided on your vision, deciding what to wear should become easier! Even wardrobe is best defined with a vision in mind. If your vision includes dinner and a night out on the town, then you’ll likely want to dress up complete with clutch purse and pumps (if that’s your thing). If your vision includes the beautiful trees and greenery in the country, then you’ll likely want to wear something more casual. Flowy floral dresses come to mind...One of my absolute favorites to photograph! I often tell my brides to bring two to three outfits...One formal and one casual.

  • Feel free to make this session about YOU guys. After all, this should be exactly as you have always envisioned it to be. Bring your pets if you have some! Bring champagne or just bring yourselves! Whatever you decide, know that I will tell you exactly how to pose and what to do during the session. The sessions typically last around 1 hour to 1.5 hour so prep your sweet groom and give him a glass of wine prior to the session to loosen him up a bit. ;)
